I don’t think Marvel cares about these stories’ depth and such. Look at gay Iceman, female Thor; they just want the headlines and appearance of progressive thinking.

No it because its lazy and pandering. Why cant we have cool new female superheros, instead of just gender swapping already loved and established male heros? It would be so cool if they had a completely new set of female superheros with new powers and maybe even an all female Avengers or Justice League, but of corse…

I don’t think people would complain nearly as much (though some still would) if Marvel was introducing entirely new marquee heroes intended to diversify their roster. Heck, taking one or two old favorites and changing up the gender/race dynamic to explore how that changes all the old endlessly rehashed plot lines is…
