Ah, man. Poor Crow. Poor Holliday, too, come to think of it. And yeah - that’s exactly the sort of stuff they’ve been doing so well this season, that sort of incidental character building that really helps ‘sell’ the emotional beats of the main narrative.

Absolutely; I love what they’re doing with Crow, posing a fundamental question of ‘does the Tower actually present a healthy perspective on this world’, and I’m dreading - in a good way - what they’re doing with Saladin, and where that’s headed, too. It definitely feels like Saladin’s gonna be the one to go the ‘you

Beyond Light was a really big reset on the way Bungie told the narrative in the game. This season has been very story focused in a way they haven’t been previously.

I find it fascinating how much more invested I am in the narrative and characters of the last handful of seasons, even as Bungie has made some gameplay/game structure decisions that I’m really not on board with. Caiatl is a far more engaging villain than pretty much any other Destiny’s ever had, Crow, the Stranger,

To be honest I had forgotten about all of that. It seemed more of an epilogue. The whole scene at the end with Aelfred I thought was pretty good. The ride away from it with the music playing and coming upon that battlefield, I remember thinking “did I randomly choose to ride in the right direction for this”. I suppose

I haven’t really been following AC since 3, but I suspect none of their endings will match the skyscraper-sized fondue of cheesiness that is the end of AC2

Come on, give Alphinaud a break. Who hasn’t started a Private Military Company just to have them betray the only people holding the dark god back?

Only vaguely on-topic, but would you guys consider doing full GamePass release coverage, the same way you do Xbox Gold or PS Plus? It feels a little inconsistent at the moment, by which I mean ‘big’ additions - or departures, like this one - get covered, but I’d love to have more consistent coverage, month to month,

I’m halfway through the trilogy, but have replayed some levels a lot in an effort to get certain unlocks. I’m maxed on mastery in Colorado, and I like it more than other people do, but I have also come to the conclusion that I have no freaking idea what approach I would use to SASO that level.  The only one of the

Barret’s improvement in Remake (the de-T-ification) is enhanced even further by Marlene being the single best kid character I’ve ever seen in a video game. As some who’s worked with kids for years, I’ve always been put off by how poorly kids are portrayed in pretty much every medium where they aren’t the main

Dear Square Enix,

but you also need to kill all the bounty hunters (or whatever they’re called) too which was a slog once I got to the end.”

I will continue to be amazed until the I’m lowered into my grave that the idea of “maybe the princess can save herself once in a while” absolutely fucking shattered so many adult brains into of millions pieces.

just...just jaw-to-the-floor astounded to this day.

Thinking on it, I’m actually sad that Kotaku hasn’t done a post about Hamtunscire as it was magnificent and I want to just wax poetic about it. Now it feels awkward, especially since there have people here who are talking about still playing it and I don’t want to spoil a single part of that emotional journey.

That is one of damn awesome Easter Egg that I missed. Once the first big DLC hits and I return to the game, I will so be looking this one up.

I doubt that. the joy cons use the same technology as the wii remote plus. you’re still gonna have to hit that re-calibrate button alot.

More like embarrassing for the middle-aged dude who is trying to sound like a kid by using the word “pwned” in 2021, you mean?

This is a pretty horrid situation.

Buckle up for that Shadowbringers storyline, it’s one hell of a ride.
