As other people have pointed out, it depends a lot on the shield. Buckled and Target shield are the best to parry with, however none of the good parry shields have 100% damage absorption, so there's a trade off there. But a good parry can really mess up an enemy. I usually keep the target shield handy for boss fights…

I think the best solution for the Dark Zone would be to remove the Rogue tag when you attack another player. You only show hostile to the players you've attacked for a set time.

Not super friendly. The closet you have to sneak is the cover to cover mechanic. Your character does keep their head down when you move, and that’s what I used to sneak up on the two guys that had killed me.

I had some success at that in the Alpha. I was ganked by a group of two. Respawned and followed them from a distance until they encountered some NPCs. Once their fight got going, I picked them off with my marksman rifle, mopped up the mobs and got my loot back.

You have no idea how many permeations the devs have come up with regarding the grids. It seems lame for the first minutes then mind blown.
