Chris Avellone is no longer with Obsidian.

I thought that at first, but those robots just blow up when the vehicle is stalled and that VTOL near the end just blew up. The other turrets weren't shooting at them at all.

Cool. I dug the core shooting gameplay. It was just that the whole package felt hollow. I think I might give it another chance though.

I wouldn’t sell the game short in regard to whether it’s a masterpiece or not.

I won’t spoil anything, but after the credits, when the game shows you some choices you could have made in this episode if you did something in earlier episodes, I was pretty shocked. Enough to warrant a second play through to see what I had missed.

Is it really better with the expansion? I dumped Destiny after the first couple month because it was just so boring. Is it worth it if I just play through the story missions in the expansion?

Stick with your choices until the end, then rewind to that one spot later to see if it plays out differently.

So when can we talk about the ending! Wow, is what I have to write about it right now.

I thought it was interesting that the nightmare Warren was pushy and creepy. I'm assuming his overt advances on Max were creeping her out?

Wha…???

So, how about that double moon? An 1Q84 reference, perhaps?

It could be. Someone else in the thread searched Google and found that the smell can start in just a few hours if the conditions are right.

The twist wouldn’t have been cheap if there it was actually used as a conflict/motivation for Venom.

Yes and no. Bonuses are awarded for being sneaky, but the time bonus is much more substantial.

You can still blow shit up and get an S ranking. Score is more tied to time than anything else. I did a mission where I did everything by the book, got all the objectives, went through each base practically unnoticed and exfiltrated the hot zone without even a whisper of my presence, and I got an A because it took

He wasn’t given much of a choice. The other option would have been to accept that awful termination agreement which was skewed heavily in Bungie’s favor and for O’Donell to fail. His best option was to force them to terminate him and hope it violated the contract (which it did).

He's one of the co-op characters.

This. If one plays Ground Zeroes then that theory is shot down.

Even better! They need to get these writers on all their projects. The Game of Thrones game has been lacking.

But that’s Jason’s point. Phantom Pain seems to hold at 60fps all the time. Not most of the time, but all the time. We’ll know for sure once DF inevitably does their comparisons and inspections, but if it's true that's a great feat considering it's an open world game.
