Still, it has to be better than Call Me Kat.

“I can’t wait to use that fantastic anti-lock braking system!”*

They did end the series with (spoiler) Harlan’s wife dying and Harlan being taken back to the Shop. I remember hearing that it was intended to be picked up as a series with Felicity Huffman’s character being the only one that returns. But when it wasn’t renewed it was cut together as a movie, and a new ending was

For an audience that goes batshit wild every time the host mentions the name of the show or the city they’re currently in, it was so weird to hear the absolute silence that followed Chalamet’s “hit by a car” joke— it even seemed to throw him a bit.

In fairness, when the door was opened in the Rona Family sketch and Lauren was standing there, for about three seconds I thought Aidy was back.

Right director, wrong movie: it was Ben Affleck who said that, in “Mallrats.”

I don’t know, I recall some blows being landed, though it wasn’t always their priority. I remember a Slappy Squirrel segment once that was comprised entirely of attacks on Siskel & Ebert (or their stand-in caricatures) and some of the jokes were really mean-spirited, focusing mainly on Ebert’s weight.

I found it unusual that they keep the first bit of the opening theme song before transitioning to the new one, but the line “Dot is cute” has been changed to “Dot has wit.” Is it considered sexist now to call a girl character “cute?” (Seriously asking)

Re: #3, as long as he wants it done to him by two women with dildos, that’s still not gay- or bi-leaning.

Does anyone know if the original musical guest cancelled, or if they had trouble finding one or something? The episode description for my DVR just said Chapelle’s name instead of both host and musical guest like usual, and I didn’t know Foo Fighters were on until they were introduced in the show open.

The gym that I go to has a bank of television in front of the treadmills and ellipticals and bikes. I don’t listen to the audio, as I bring my tablet, but once in a while my eye wander upward. One channel showed this performance every single day. Literally every. Single. Day.

I was just scrolling down to see if anyone had mentioned “The Ruins” yet. I know the premise sounds silly to anyone who hasn’t read it (sentient mimicking vines that kill you) and I understand the terrible movie adaptation pretty much murdered any mystique the book may have had. But man that book wrecked me-- after I

Somehow, I knew what it was going to be the second I saw the outside shot of the souvenir shop.

I’m just waiting for the inevitable Buzzfeed article about how adorably wonderful it was that Adele broke live on the air, and how “relateable” it makes her.

It’s been a long time but I still think he didn’t do as bad as most people (including himself) seem to think he did. I watch the Oscars every year, and I couldn’t tell you a single joke the host made on the last broadcast (I can’t even recall who the host was, but I’m sure it will come to me). But to this day I still

Nah, I’m all about fairness. The guy can play a few instruments and some of his impressions weren’t terrible. Plus he has charm.

The wonders of editing...

I don’t believe it was on purpose, he just had no self control (even less so when it was him and Horatio Sanz together). They wouldn’t dream of firing him because people found it endearing and it got buzz. Bad publicity is better than none at all.

Agree with all of this. I was never a fan of Fallon at all, because of his endless breaking up, and I can’t watch a second of the Tonight Show because he has such a “mischievous schoolboy” vibe which gets on my nerves. But I can’t deny he has talents, and he’s miles ahead of Jones, who couldn’t get through a sketch
