What is better about them?  Also... aside from a work truck, who buys a pickup with a v6?

Am I the only one that actually likes the new Silverados? I find them quite sharp (the HDs do have weird proportions, I must admit), aside from the ones with the lack of bowtie on the front grille.

Anyone remember Mazdaspeed6 and 3?  100% of people bought them with manuals.

I agree with you.  I also use a variety of CAD tools and it’s hard to beat a spacemouse in the left hand and a mouse w/ many mappable buttons in the right.

The last sentence is the key here. I think it has a lot of potential, but it’s clearly very resource-intensive (which will eventually improve) and it looks like his 40h rendering is a lot more simple than the typical renderings that take months to accomplish. It’s basically a 3D sketch, whereas a typical rendering is

It’s just not as convenient.

Me too! I grew up in Chesterfield, but it was always a treat when we were up there and I always begged my family to let us stop by. It never got old standing in the wheels (this was rare since BF5 was typically fenced off) and even just next to the truck.

It definitely sounds fitting.

Fair enough. Shitbox is a little extreme, and I did have your attention. It’s easy to be a keyboard warrior these days. I’d never call your car a shitbox to your face anyway :P

Fair, but you said hundreds in your initial post - so that’s why I reacted in such a surprised manner.

Of the H3T?

Okay... but you said to adapt the Voltec system from the Volt.  The Volt’s engine is a small engine generator and the electric motors directly drive the wheels.

1) That’s not an upscaled architecture of what the Volt uses, which is what my comment was directed at.

Just because they have it doesn’t mean it’s inexpensive to implement.  The cost of the engine is high due to all the technology in it, aftertreatment, fuel systems... i could easily see $10k+ added to the cost on top of a full electric vehicle.  I also doubt it, but I don’t doubt they’ve considered it.

Derp. My bad. I assumed based on your username you were a long, grey-haired, technically inclined, and verbose British gentleman.

I didn’t think to look at your profile picture thingy.

You’re right, I assumed most people know what cal means... that’s my bad - but the context of “Partially on Purpose” sort of indicated it was intentional.

Not wrong about how certain potential customers will react.

I agree with this 110%. With a truck, you could run a lot more batteries and make the range longer than 30 miles before needing the generator.

My worry is that people may not want to pay the price premium. I think a PHEV would add a lot of cost compared to a pure electric truck... thus the pure electric truck may be

You’re not wrong.
