Yeah seems like they took out the idea of giving a personality to every other character to instead make it a Cloverfield movie.

Yeah the Earth stuff felt like total unnecessary reshoots added to make it a Cloverfield movie.

It felt like it should’ve been a fun cheesy sci fi film that they had to make more serious to fit in the Cloverfield brand. Needless to say I did not enjoy it at all.
