I hope that’s not true.
Of course, you thinking that line was suuuuuper funny does give creedence to the idea that you don’t have a great sense of humor.

No, you’re not.
And there it is! The football-centric fan, who can’t help but think baseball would be better...if only it were more like football!
Again, you are creating deliberately absurd scenarios...and “Whatdya know!” they make baseball look absurd.
*Down by 2 pts with 30 seconds to go. What strategy Belichek showed by going for…
Everything you’ve described is based on rules that apply to every player on the field in the exact same way. The fact that those rules are most frequently used for pitchers doesn’t change the fact that they are in fact the exact same rules.
Only 7 AL teams employed full-time DHs (aka guys who qualified for the batting title at DH.)
I never get this argument.
Either there is not strategy at all, as you contend. Or there is a strategic impact that requires computer/chart-based maximization.
How do you have it both ways?
People literally want this to happen.
Football also began as a both ways sport and went all the way down “slippery slope” you’re telling us could never happen.
There is no internal logic to one player not hitting and one player not fielding.
Symmetry/consistency calls for all both ways. Or all the other. As weird as the…
This ‘pitcher’s getting injured’ thing is 90% Confirmation Bias. Eight percent results-based analysis. (Most people don’t give a shit about a pitcher getting hurt on the bases until one of the pitcher’s on their team gets hurt.) And 2% cognitive dissonance. (Pitching is the worst thing a pitcher can go for his health.…
Terrible analogy.
In your example...The 3 pt line, size of the key, and the height of the hoop, like the distance of the basepaths, pitcher’s mound, size of the bases/batter’s box, etc are in baseball would all be the same.
The analogy would be a a slightly wider or longer court. Maybe one that is a trapezoid.
