You’re right. They wouldn’t get a chance to vote until next year, and someone more extreme than McCain (who votes with his party most of the time but at least will say Trump is “problematic”) could get appointed.

They would have to pick someone in a safe seat too, meaning we’d be looking at Sen Gosar or something similar. Then we’d be looking at someone from the State Senate, also in a safe seat in the House seat. Scary.

I will say though, that if all these accusations bear out to be true it goes way beyond the hypocrisy of someone doing drugs and putting people away for doing drugs. This shit sounds truly unhinged.
