There’s this one scene in the Big Short where Winston from New Girl is bragging about selling mortgages to people with bad/no credit like newly-arrived immigrants and strippers. Steve Carrell walks away with his trading partners and asks why he’d be confessing to something so blatantly immoral and one of his partners

... in his second tweet, he’s talking about “fake news distorting democracy”

I had a friend who had an incredibly complicated neurological problem diagnosed and treated there with great skill and rapidity. She’ll all better now, mostly, I think, because they didn’t allow it to linger. And of course, you are right — it’s about McCain having good insurance and using it for an emergency while

I know there’s a joke in here somewhere about the healthcare bill having the same acronym as the breast cancer susceptibility gene. I just can’t seem to come up with it, what with all the anxiety over this whole fucking shitshow.

That’s a feature, not a bug.

“Well, time to register to vote! Hope I don’t get doxxed by the government and murdered by its armed, rabid supporters.

You don’t understand, he’s winning the disapproval ratings! WINNING!!!

How expensive can some of these dresses be? If you’re out a few hundred bucks and some time, that sucks but it’s not a disaster.

There is not enough irony in the country to match the fact that the GOP’s plan to strip millions of their insurance is being held up by one of their members receiving affordable government funded health care which he and his colleagues will continue to receive with the full benefits provided by the ACA long after

“Sarcasm is wasted on the ignorant.”

I haven’t done the math. But I’d guess no, because the bribe is one time, and the expansion goes on year after year.

You’re right. They wouldn’t get a chance to vote until next year, and someone more extreme than McCain (who votes with his party most of the time but at least will say Trump is “problematic”) could get appointed.

They would have to pick someone in a safe seat too, meaning we’d be looking at Sen Gosar or something similar. Then we’d be looking at someone from the State Senate, also in a safe seat in the House seat. Scary.

Outspoken critic? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well you see, he was starved and tortured by people funded and trained by Russia and Republicans have long been stridently anti-Russia and so he has to stick by his party because they’re against the things he’s against.

Here’s the reason:

That’s the big con on the GOP base. This bullshit will end up being a tortured ACA mutant that will be so much worse than if they had just addressed the ACA’s problems. But the rightists painted themselves into the “Repeal Obamacare!” corner and they don’t have the brainpower to craft anything workable. Especially now

Alright, we’re in full agreement on all of that. I will say though, that if all these accusations bear out to be true it goes way beyond the hypocrisy of someone doing drugs and putting people away for doing drugs. This shit sounds truly unhinged. Sleeping with litigants? Bailiffs? Bartering with drugs to swing cases?

It’s both. A response as hypocritical as what it addresses. Why should she have her cake and eat it, too, when normal citizens can’t?
