If you’re being serious, you should tell your wife that “white” does not equal Northern European with skin the color of snow. Or does she also think that Spanish people, Italians, Greeks, European Jews, and all other Mediterranean people aren’t white either?

I think it’s a real stretch to describe quite a few of the movies on that list as being about Jewish life — let alone in normal, everyday settings — but in general I agree with you.

I hope you’re not a parent, and that if you ever become one you’ll change your thinking.

There was a controversy just within the last year concerning a Christian romance novel about a concentration camp commandant and a Jewish prisoner falling in love. I think he saves her, and she converts to Christianity at the end. So, a happy ending for all! And nobody involved could seem to understand why this was

Exactly. I’ve lived in two Manhattan apartments in the last six years since I moved back to NYC, and neither has had a dishwasher.

What do you mean, “who said anything about her voting”?? Read what it says — that she “actively campaigned AND VOTED” for Goldwater. The claim that she voted is obviously false; why should I believe that she “actively campaigned”?

She wasn’t old enough to vote in 1964. So half of what it claims is false.

No, no. Acting award nominations only go to cis people playing trans people, not to actual trans people.

I hope not. I refuse to see it, but every trans woman I know who did see it said they hated it, and hated the script, and hated Redmayne’s performance. Whoever wrote the screenplay was way too familiar with Fictionmania stories — it’s all 100% forced feminization canon.

He mentioned making money as the #1 New York value. And media, for God’s sake. Of course he was dog-whistling about Jews. Jewish homosexuals, if you add all the “gay marriage” stuff.

Same here. Never met a white Protestant until college.

I grew up in NYC, and never met a WASP — or any kind of white Protestant — until I was in college. Every single kid I knew was Jewish, black, Hispanic, or white Roman Catholic.

Actually, it wasn’t nearly one-third; it was a total of 4 million women *eligible* to vote in the 1916 presidential election, compared to 18.5 million actual votes cast in the election — and obviously a larger number who were eligible to vote. So much less than one-third. See

Eisenhower? Seriously?

You mean the U.S. entered in 1917. Still, you’re absolutely correct that kiselblat’s facts may be fun, but aren’t facts!

It might be fun, but I don’t think it’s a fact: Wilson was elected to a second term in 1916, and the U.S. joined World War I in 1917 — four and three years, respectively, before women got the vote in the U.S. in 1920. And Wilson didn’t “grant” women the vote anyway; there had to be a constitutional amendment.

I don’t think so, because it would be missing the thousands of years of “mammoth culture” that mammoths presumably had. All it would be is a hairy elephant, assuming that it would be raised by elephants. How do we know that mammoth families behaved like elephants do now?

The Daily News is a New York City paper. It’s not the Daily Mail.

Oh, please. Sexual abuse of patients by doctors (and dentists) is so common that some District Attorney offices — including in NYC — have ADAs who do nothing else but prosecute such cases. And it’s sanctimonious apologists like you who discourage victims from reporting what happens. And malpractice suits are entirely

My experience as well on the multiple times I’ve there — lots of alcoves and nooks where nobody walks by for lengthy periods of time. Although most of the curtains are open, who’s to say he didn’t close them?
