As a recently former employee, I wouldn’t bet on it and that is not a spurned lover’s comment. There are systemic problems that as yet so far don’t seem to be a priority for being addressed.

This is a joke right?
1000x this. I am taking solace in the fact that I respect that people like what they like. I think truck culture is toxic generally but lots of folks have them that are not that. The generalizations here are frankly gross and for what is often a progressive message board, people should be ashamed.
I wouldn’t get too excited. This is a page straight out of the software developer bible and Randal Munroe of XKCD has made many jokes about it over the years. In short, if it can be automated it should be automated and any interaction at the human level means you aren’t doing your job. The problem here is the…
I think that depends, are the ones that are non-violent actively helping to protect those that are? If so then yes. Aiding and abetting is a thing. I haven’t exactly heard of a lot of whistleblowers in the LEO community.
not worried. the battery will last as long as it lasts and when the new formulations in battery tech become mass production the battery will be replaced by that new chemistry.
The parties flipped around the civil rights movement. The D/R doesn’t matter, it’s the ideology.
I love it when people tell me why I have a truck. I’m compensating for a small penis. I want people to think I word hard and play hard. I never use it haul stuff, etc. I realize this is self attested survey data but bare with me, I have a point.
I don’t think that is the core of the problem. Battery standardization and logistics are the big blockers. Right now any station can fill you up, would you need to only go to tesla swap stations and audi stations? How many batteries would they need to store on site? a gas station with 6 pumps can probably fill 60-70…
jesus man, that is vitriolic. I’m far from rich and frankly the cybertruck is the same price as this Ford.
I am probably not your typical truck buyer in that I live in an urban center but I’ve never not owned a truck as my primary vehicle. I have a cybertruck reservation because I want to replace the stupid level of gas my truck (08 Tundra) consumes. I use my truck to support my woodshop, home improvement, camping and…
I’m 6' 1" and I cannot reach over the bed of my Tundra (standard, no lift) for anything of substantial weight like MY father’s toolbox when I helped him on job sites. The trucks are dad’s drove were different creatures than the ones today and I’d kill for something like my old SR5 with modern safety features.
Any job that can be done by a machine instead of a human with the same risk profile should be and that is a good thing. The issue is mitigating the collateral risk of that change, but not the change itself and I think you have to separate the two issues.
Costco has it for a really good price on a 3 pack.
he said he lives in a downtown high rise. I’m guessing if you can pay $400 a month for parking you can have someone change the oil, particularly if you don’t have a workspace for it.
I think the argument against tape has been the time it takes to restore from them and the amount of data they can store. It’s been a decade now but I know we were running into our incrementals running into our fulls. Lot’s of ways to mitigate that but tools like google glacier made it cheaper to run to cloud disk than…
I agree with this sentiment which isn’t to say that I am an advocate for these services, I believe they do have an exploitative quality to them as I don’t believe there is an equitable distribution of fare collected. However, I believe people shouldn’t be robbed of an opportunity to make some side money if they care…
That isn’t entirely true. We’ve seen laws changed in order to accommodate pandemic business practices most of which probably won’t go back. Specifically targeted have been variations on “blue” laws like the ability to sell to go alcohol from a restaurant. This seemed like silly legislation given the availability of…
Anecdotes are not data but imma need to call BS on that one right here. 20 years ago I had a friend that worked at a dealership network (he was on the Honda side) and I wanted to buy a Toyota. He walked me in, introduced me to the sales guy, a friend of his, said give this guy the bro discount and went on his way.
can we talk about those panel gaps though? :) Seriously this guy is a master artisan.
