Agreed. Master/slave is problematic and needs to go. That could cause problems in coding, but fixing it and removing that language is a worthwhile goal.

Spider-Man feature an extended subplot about a cop going rogue and crossing the line to murder. It wasn’t as clear cut as the article suggests.

In fairness, Lady A isn’t a well known artist.
She doesn’t have a Soundcloud, her Spotify has 300 monthly listeners, and her Wikipedia entry dates to earlier this morning. The video linked in this article as <850 views at the time of this writing, with most being around 400 while the highest is 2k.

This is a hard and complex issue because while racism is bad and romanticizing the antebellum South is problematic, removing the film is censorship. It is taking the choice of viewership away from people.

As others have said, it would undoubtedly lead to fewer women and more dudes winning. And even if there is an informal rule for gender equality in the nominations, it’d lead to stiffer competition for the two or three spots for women.

Yeah. It’s unarguably a great thing that will make a lot of people happy and I’m excited for all those kids of colour to have a Spider-man they can more easily identify with.
