That is one of my all-time favorite unappreciated albums. It’s second only to Brian Ritchie’s “I See a Noise”.
That description reminds me of a passage in “North Dallas Forty” in which Peter Gent describes what it’s like for a veteran wide receiver to get out of bed in the morning.

Have you come across the writings on Stoicism by the late Vice-Admiral James Stockdale? He credited his reading of Epictetus, Seneca, and Marcus with helping him survive the Hanoi Hilton.
When I was a (much) younger man I would occasionally change the bulbs on top of a water tower about 10% as high as that tower. That was challenging in itself; what this guy does is hard to imagine. Not just in terms of nerve, but as an athletic feat. I am a fan, sir.
