I get your point but I think the mistake people make with the recent reboot/remake is that it wasn’t really it’s own film it was more along the lines of a Friday 13th greatest hits, the writers and directors even said that they were using kill scenes from the early four films so to me it was more “the greatest hits”…

The problem is, the studio is trying to make the film more than what it is and should be. It is a classic old school slasher and they should stick with that.
