But it’s got mods. Like someone else said it’s had a decade of developement. It’s earned it’s reputation. No man’s sky is getting credit for ‘what ifs’ and ‘what could be’s’ but it’s not actually been given the content that makes it a worthwhile game. .... Yet.

Why? it’s my understanding that everybody playing No Man’s Sky is technically playing on the same seed and will do so indifferent of how many times they start the game anew, while you’ll get a new seed every time you start a new world in Minecraft.

In this case it’s not a matter of whether the game could live up to the hype/expectations or not. In this case, it’s a matter of releasing a functioning product. Hello Games have no control over fan expectations, but they certainly have control over releasing a competent product.
