I strongly disagree about the first games combat system. Really, the only flaw was the AI being beyond stupid. You basically have to set your AI party members to only do basic attacks, or they’ll blow through all their magic instantly.

It is free-to-play and will also have offline single player. It’s not clear at this time if the game will feature microtransactions, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it offers purchasable skins like the main game.

I enjoyed the actual single player game. I never did play 2 though.

Interesting, consider my interest increased. I had lost interest and stopped following the game completely when I had heard they were going for a more action oriented (ie fast paced) combat system. I’ll keep an eye out now though.

As long as it isn’t anything like White Knight Chronicles ... I guess I should really say the 1000+ hours of game play it required. The actual town building part was great, but good god did it take a literal lifetime if you wanted to complete it.

I don’t think it matters. They either butcher FF7 or they butcher Chrono Trigger. Either one they’d trash the story, trash the characters, make it all nonsensical, and of course change the genre to an action game. But look, pretty graphics! Pick your poison I guess?
