Unless they have a way to verrify the name matches the SSN from the Korean Government (unlikely, but who knows in foreign countries).... I don’t see anything stopping them from typing in random/sequential numbers.

Who said anything about it being $5k USD in foreign countries? I know the article used that as an example, but Valve sure hasn’t.

Why is everyone forgetting/ignoring the key word in the official statement by Valve: “recoupable application fee”

In the first part of your post you’re stating things that a real developer would have to pay. As you pointed out at the end, these are not real developers that are the problem. It’s the asset flippers and others like them that churn out total crap in the hopes of making a quick buck. This isn’t an isolated problem.

Only if the fee is high enough. Strangely enough, a lot of these crappy games are created solely for the trading cards which for reasons I can’t understand makes a lot of money.

If you re-read the article, you’ll see that they have not selected a price. They’ve only heard from developers a range of $100 to $5000 as being reasonable and they’re still deciding on what to use.

I wouldn’t count on that.

This is why I don’t play these kind of games. RNG exists in many games, but in these gacha games with their stupid star ratings it’s unbearable.

It probably is pointless, but like him, I also avoid this business model and encourage others to do the same. And that’s okay. Opinions are a good thing.

I’ve done pretty well. I’ve managed to resist microtransactions in all but a single case, and yes I felt near instant regret at that decision. However, I did learn from that decision and have never again paid one red cent to F2P games.

Nothing illustrates what I dislike about gacha games more than this here article.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I failed then.

I did that in WoD, was still always broke. Just with one character though. I didn’t have time to bother with an army of alts. Never bought anything off the AH, couldn’t afford it.

So, does that mean they’ll make gold even harder to obtain?

I bought a key from G2A, it got revoked from my account since it was bought through credit card fraud.

Wow, March 28 for a fixed story? That’s much longer than I expected when they announced it.

Their practice of gutting new copies of the games is one of the major reasons I stopped shopping with GameStop. It’s such a foolish practice. Maybe I could of seen it in the days color copiers were wickedly expensive, but that hasn’t been the case for many years now. They already put out dummy copies for pre-orders,

Is there any reason at all to shop at GameStop other than maybe “It’s next door”?

I don’t see where there is a lot of choice for people. Other than to stay home and never go anywhere.

Yes, and correct.
