Someday, Ferrari 599 GTO. Someday.
God help any passenger whose bone marrow and organs are on file as compatible with Peter Thiel, that is all I can say.
Part of the problem is that the car isn’t going to be making a binary choice -- “1 life or 2" -- it’s going to be make that choice based on whatever probabilities it can calculate based on whatever data it has available. Which means that, some of the time, it’s going to choose wrong.
The laws of robotics say that a robot can’t harm a human.
Humans can be trained, most definitely, and it’s definitely easier than implementing AI. Unfortunately, I think we’ve proven that we’d prefer to play Pokemon Go and message each other on our phones and read newspapers rather than pay attention to any sort of training we’ve already been given.
What you’re describing is central processing. Every car communicates with each other and is overseen by a central unit. They all speak the same language and respond in the same way.
Before any of this shit can probably happen in any effective fashion, we need:
Awesome. I need a way to tell the dimwit in front of me to turn his damn signal off (after ten minutes). Or get the F outta the left lane if he insists on 60mph. Maybe a Bluetooth link?
Ugh. A self driving car network will only be fast and efficient if it’s run by a central processing station. If every company has it’s own algorithm then there’s going to be conflicts and it won’t be any better than individual idiot drivers dealing with other idiot drivers like we have now.
OR.....they are about to release the first silver car with a red reflection! BREAKTHROUGH
That cake looks delicious.

Awesome. Everything you pointed out is the basis of my response.
Um...water pump, timing belt/tensioner, head gasket, exhaust studs all require an engine pull, or at least they do if you’re going by the book.
I bought my clean titled, high mile 1993 NSX last year for $18.5K. I considered it affordable. Love the MR2, but NSX all day to satisfy my Gran Turismo 1 inner child.
I thought the exact same thing. Mmmmmmm. Both are so tasty.
Protip: RHD variants are starting to become legal for import under the 25 year rule.
