I have extremely high expectations for this. Parker and Stone were apparently very disappointed with the licensed South Park games during the N64 era, and that's why they took so long to license the property again.

Well, it does have a GOTY contender in the Wii U Mario, and another GOTY contender in the 3DS Zelda.

Fuck that. I wish I'd had a PS4 when I was a kid.

Isn't the Pokemon-amie home screen supposed to be the inside of the pokeball?

Is it more misogynistic to depict unrealistic breasts, or to code a complex breast-rendering system into your game engine?

Yeah. People have been saying the same bullshit for years about poor Bernie Madoff, when all those stupid losers would have known what they were getting if they'd only read more carefully.

It is a common e-bay scam to create a listing that is designed to trick people who don't read carefully into thinking they're buying something much more valuable than the thing that is actually listed.

guidebooks are very different from actually hacking the game, especially for online components.

He's right about launch games. The economics of making a top-tier game don't work when the day one user base of the console is a fraction of the last-gen's. Even with Sony and Microsoft launching near-simultaneously and even though they're able to push more supply into the marketplace than previous console launches

A lot of RPGs have really involved, deep mechanics, and then tune their difficulty so that you don't really need to engage that stuff in order to complete the main quest.

The PS3 and XBOX 360 have tens of millions of units installed. There will only be about 3 million PS4s shipped by Christmas, so Ubisoft and Activision aren't going to develop their newest Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty games exclusively for the new platforms.

It's just a question of how much you value the experience. If you watch a lot of movies or play a lot of games, it kind of makes sense to invest in an HD television. There are a lot of good options in the 42-inch range for $500, and you can get very good 50-55 flat panels for less than $1000. It's a pretty big step

These are versions of the same game, so the differences among them are going to be technical in nature. Once we start seeing top-tier games made exclusively for the new consoles, the power of the new hardware will create a lot of great gameplay improvements.

Unless your TV is more than 5 years old or smaller than 40 inches, there's a good chance it is 1080p, even if it was relatively inexpensive.

The difference between the positive reviews and the negative reviews of Knack and Killzone are mostly just degrees of indifference. Nobody loves these games. And I'm not saying this as some kind of fanboy.

I think it's fair. Someone looking for an online multiplayer shooter on this console would probably be ill-advised to pick Killzone when it launches on the same day as BF and CoD. This is a shooter that succeeds or fails on the strength of its campaign to a much greater extent than the others.

The XBONE is much bigger than the PS4 and has similar components. My understanding is that the extra space is for cooling, though the PS4 supposedly runs much cooler than the PS3, so melting should not be a problem this gen.

The way they got away with it is that they offered free repairs for years. I think I got my launch-day 360 repaired for free in 2008.

Well, video games are, at least in part, a narrative form. And it's really poor thinking to value them by the hour.

The Infinity Ward games: CoD, CoD2, CoD4:MW, and COD:MW2 are markedly superior to the Treyarch games, even though Treyarch used IW assets to make their games.
