He's created a lot of great female characters, but yeah, he has a tendency of objectifying his female actors. Not that I actually mind staring down at Penelope Cruz's cleavage.

The continued ignoring of the DC animated universe by the people handling the movies is completely baffling. They could make their jobs so much easier by just mining material from that world.
She's not really naked is she? I assumed she was wearing some kind of skin-tight silicone body suit.
Oh definitely, I'd stick around just for the sharp writing and great acting. I just haven't found anything yet to get really emotionally invested in. The closest thing the show has to an emotional core is Shadow Moon, but the tragic injustice of his backstory, his years in prison and his dead wife, is undone by the…
So, uh, I'm liking this show a lot. It's got style to burn, but…I'm getting really tired of it dragging it's feet. The best thing about it so far is all the little digressions involving other gods, but 5 episodes in and the main plot has yet to really kick into gear, and I'm having trouble caring about it. Does…
You don't think giant claymation spiders are scary?
I'm happy the Square won. I'm really looking forward to that and You Were Never Really Here.
Alright people, get in line. And for god's sake, one at a time!
I did. It's good!
So I just saw it, it's nothing life-changing, but it's pretty good. It is very Ted-talky, and those first 20 minutes are rough. I was getting ready to throw in the towel, but his show definitely builds. It's not very funny, but that's really because it's less a stand-up set, and more a heartfelt and earnest one man…
I might check out that Hasan Minhaj special, but it looks pretty terrible from the trailer. Like a Ted talk with light, the Moth level gentle humour.
Well, maybe it's true this time.
Well now I feel like I missed something from the experience. I'm an easy cry (I think I cried maybe three times during Logan), but Arrival, while great, didn't get me to cry. I think all the hard sci-fi and time travel loop-de-looping puts the emotional aspects at too much of a distance for me to feel anything.
Uuhhh…Jesus?
I wouldn't even mind if someone just believed that the world was flat, and left it at that. The idea itself seems pretty harmless, and kind of whimsical, like believing in Bigfoot. But these types of ideas are always used to conceal some other form of ignorance. So what I want to know is why these people believe in…
Yeah, Jimmy definitely has some serious faults in his character. I don't know if it's just me, but I kinda felt like they were setting up a parallel with Walt from BB when he couldn't start his car, and he couldn't admit that he was flooding the engine. Jimmy might be on the same trajectory as Walt.
It doesn't even bother me much that they didn't wear protective gear, like helmets or whatever. The only reason they touched down on that planet was because they knew it's environment could support human life.
I don't think they exactly trusted David. They just had no choice but to hunker down in his creepy castle until they could be rescued. Besides, he did save them initially, and seemed like the only person around to provide any answers.
Hmm. I never ask pregnant women when they're due, even if I know them, cause I generally don't give a fuck about their pregnancy. I always thought that was rude, but this makes me feel better about that decision.
