There are a lot of complaints about Jack's friends existing if Ashi cannot. Using my limited understanding of Cartoon Science, here's my theory:

Cartoon physics, dude. When Jack went into space there was sound. He can pivot while jumping in the air, and he has a magical gi which not only stays clean and - er - in place no matter what he is doing, but repairs its own damage. Manipulation of dilative distortion is not out of line in that context.
