Kansas isn't the south.
Kansas isn't the south.
Please elaborate on specifically where in the show something happened that made you believe that. Because there is nothing from what I’ve seen over two seasons to indicate Ted would be voting for that asshat. If you’re just assuming that based on appearance, that speaks more about you than the character,
I think another typo in the production process assumably explains the chronological confusion here. Hopping from 2248 to 2298 and back to 2245 is just one of the hazards you face when you’re fighting the Predater.
I dunno, it seems like this whole issue is making a mountain out of Jemele Hill.
getting them into the USMNT set-up so as to best hone their gifts
Why should a poorly run team be allowed to take the spot of motivated and efficient owners who are barred from entry. Pro/rel does work in the US. Just about every single business sector we have, uses it . . .
I think the issue is that if you want to aspire to be the level of Senegal then the MLS is fine. Though I would hope that US Soccer aspires to better things then being happy to make the World Cup and ecstatic if we stumble into the knock out rounds.
Also a great post. If a club in Sacramento is capable of producing the best soccer players in the country they should be able to make their way to the top and compete with San Jose or L.A. Why punish the clubs that do it right just to line the pockets of MLS owners?
Great post. This is it in a nutshell: “In the US, parents are the consumers of club services. In a real soccer country, clubs are the consumers of soccer talent. If we don’t ever flip the incentives, we’re gonna continue to be what we are.”
I woul have taken Fred over this a-clown any day.
Lots of straw men. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone agitate to call it ‘football’. Switching the season to the international calendar is a no-brainer and will have to happen if we ever want to compete at an international level. But the main issue is that b/c MLS is a single entity there’s no financial incentive in…
Relegation isn’t the focal point, promotion is.
If soccer is being play by billions of people over the whole world way more than any western sport, for more than 120 years then Yes! We should emulate the best. The ones that have won all the world cups and all the world club cups. They play 10 months a year and have relegations because is the best way to select from…
Well, this is the problem - traditionally, in US/Canadian sports leagues, the markets with the most money were also happy to monopolize the top talent worldwide. But in soccer, that’s not the case (and increasingly, teams in other pro leagues want to keep profits instead of hiring top talent) - as a result, you have a…
There are so many wrong things with your paragraph, it’s hard to know where to begin.
If Pro/Rel is off the table than eliminate the lower leagues. They effectively serve no purpose and US Soccer pretty much ignores them anyway. If you have lower tier leagues than they must have some sort of connection to the top league to be relevant and provide a reason for their fans to care if they win. Winning a…
You got a good eye for talent...
I have zero clue as to his qualifications (and thank you for enlightening us), but you can’t tell me that photo isn’t of a Fred Armisen character.
Luckily, evidence shows that MLS and US Soccer are NOT in fact serious about improving soccer in the US.
