The new Mel Brooks memoir contains many wonderful stories about Mr. Wilder, but interestingly he also throws some shade at his decision to stop acting in Brooks’s movies and start writing and directing his own. In an almost unanimously sunny and positive book (well worth the read) it was a surprising note to strike.

...attempting to diffuse the fight...

I’ve never seen that before but it makes sense.

Ouch. I accidentally climbed on a stone war memorial in Glasgow (genuinely didn’t see the sign) and I feel guilty about it to this day.

Yes, I forgot to mention that - the fence was a couple hundred feet away from the monument. I fully understand why they wouldn’t let people climb on (see other reply below) or even touch the monument, but they needed a better solution than that.

When I went to Stonehenge in 1996, there was a ten-foot chain link fence around it absolutely crammed with garbage. You had to peer between “crisps” bags to even see the monument. Also, they were doing some kind of preservation work so there was scaffolding all around the stones. Talk about an anticlimax... I hope

Obi-Wan Kenobi - Episode 101 & 102

LISTEN, KID! I’ve been hearing that crap ever since I was at UCLA. I’m out there busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Walton and Lanier up and down the court for 48 minutes!

Reason 4,987 to love this woman.

Add Dave Bautista to that. The Mount Rushmore of friendly muscleheads.

Presumably there is a love interest, some roly-poly little bat-faced girl?

Given Val Kilmer’s condition these last few years, I’m very surprised he was able to partake. I wonder if Iceman will be sick in it?

What time did Sean Connery arrive at Wimbledon? Tennish.

Well holy shit. Thanks, I did miss this.

Beat me to it. Copy editing at its finest.

The Christmas movie wasn’t atrocious either.

Very interesting choice... he was good in PB

Interesting choice, bit old for the role
