  • “But the plans were on display . . .”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
    “That’s the display department.”
    “With a torch.”
“Ah, well the lights had probably gone.”
    “So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in

What? Where do they post that? Asking for a friend....

same with Ohio. Every paper publicizes them a few days in advance, location and times

Yup, same in California.  Failure to notify ahead of time may violate the fourth amendment.

Ummm New York state law REQUIRES that DWI checkpoints are publicly posted ahead of time. Both time and place.

Ann-Margret and Dick Van Dyke are on board but Bobby Vinton is holding out for too much money.

I thought they were doing Bye Bye Birdie? Also, if they want a musical that everyone loves*, why not do Little Shop of Horrors around Halloween (or even Thanksgiving/Christmas like they usually do, cause it’s never the wrong time for Little Shop of Horror.)

*Yeah, I know they’d probably have to do the more feel good

This is the dawning of the age of ambivalence.

You know what he did? Two chicks at the same time, man!

Interesting timing on this settlement. A friend got me a huge box of Ghiradelli peppermint square candies for Christmas. The box could easily have fit 100 of them in there. I think there were 20. There was a big cardboard divider inside to keep them from rattling around and telling people that it was mostly empty. I

David Chase probably agonized over how to end the show for a very long time, and if you don't think choosing the ending that he did wasn't a hard choice, or a choice at all—that it wasn't chosen for a very specific purpose to say a very specific thing—well, I'm not really sure how to respond to that.

In a sick way, I could just imagine the part of Don that was picturing an ad featuring that refrigerator metaphor.

The episode showed all the conclusions Don Draper couldn't get.

thats the great thing about art though. I think thats excactly how it should work and i very much prefer this ending and the sopranos, to the ending of breaking bad. So why do you think to presume that asking people to figure it out for themselves is not exactly what makes great art for at least some of the audience?

If getting with Stan is settling, we should all wish to settle in our own lives.

Showing the Coke ad after the 'ding' and Don's peaceful face was the conclusion. He made peace with himself and it allowed him to create something great - the ad to share with the world. At least to me personally. I didn't need to see him hitch across the country or fly in an airplane to know that yes indeed he

It isn't laziness that prompts these kinds of endings. Do you really think Weiner/Chase were sitting at their desks, looking at their scripts and thinking to themselves "boy, I really don't want to write another 12 pages. How about we just cut to black/coke ad and let those dumb fans figure it out. Yeah, he he he,

Thank you Megan for making me never want to eat Sherbert again.
