I think it embodied my local Radio Shack's habit of never having anything I need in stock pretty well. I wish they were more like they were in the 80s.

I think that the Chrysler ad could have been a small smack in the face to Daimler, who divested them a few years back. And, since Jaguar is now owned by an Indian concern, perhaps showing the British villains wasn't such a difficult choice.

IDK, but they were definitely driving a VW while doing it.

I want to know what happens to a German engineer when my VW hits 300K miles, sometime in the next year. Maybe skittles flying out of some orifice?

And it's a warm glowing warming glow.

No, just your Origin name.

Yes, because I only have a life in Springfield.

I have the Billy and the Boingers book/record.

This one is actually kind of cool - it's got a big punch-out Bart, with a little stand, so you can make a cheesy cardboard Bart statue.

But their backing band was the M.G.'s, without Booker T. The Blues Brothers took the lead role. So they were actually musicians. It's nice that they got some extra money/cred later in life, and hopefully some royalties, too, because so many musicians got screwed by their managers back in the 60s.

I own both of thoseā€¦ Happy Happy, Joy Joy!

The Blues Brothers had 3 different albums - Briefcase full of Blues, the movie soundtrack, and Made in America, which has the best version of Green Onions, ever. Seeing as Booker T and the M.G.s had been practicing it for 20+ years at that point.

Take off, eh?

I have a shrink-wrapped long box of Simpsons Sing the Blues. It's worth pennies!

Mom says no, Homer says d'oh,
Now you can't go, to the boat show.

In other news, "Once Upon A Time" is doing a pretty good job with their casting.

I remember how much I loved Ren & Stimpy back in the day. I have that album, too, and the other one (with Happy Happy Joy Joy).

We had a segment on Escape from Sobibor in 7th grade, got the transcripts for the original broadcast on CBS. We were assigned to watch it at home (and I did). It was neat following along with the script.

Whenever Owen shows up, I think of the chorus in Oedipus Rex - the deus ex machina there to prod along the sub-sub-sub plot. He says what the audience has been thinking, and brings it to the forefront. But he annoys me, too.

Too bad he didn't have a Thomas themed set prepared. That show is comedy gold. Just ask my three-year-old, who, incidentally, wore the same costume yesterday.
