I loved the looks of this car when it was new. The 80’s were a strange time for gearheads. Cars were, for the most part, very boxy. But they didn’t look bad(87 GNX, anyone?) Even the 80’s Camaros looked the styling team started with a rectangle, made a bunch of angle cuts and said “there, it looks aerodynamic”.
CP. For one its a Ford. For two it looks like it’s had a bargain basement, cheap paint and interior job, because anyone that would do a quality job would never let it leave with a old coolant jug for an expansion resevoir.
Too much goofball stuff going on. The seller (or a previous owner) seems to have gone crazy with a rattle-can of white spray paint inside. White pedal assemblies? WTF?
Silver paint part looks to be a little orange-peely/flat in some shots, it could just be the pics tho. The old antifreeze bottle wired into the rad support as an overflow really shows attention to detail. There is some funky waviness going on with the bedside behind the passenger side door, probably attributed to a…
I wish my 4Runner was 4wd so I could do fun things.
Exactly. $2000 it’s an amazing buy. $7500 is insane. Maybe if it had some sort of turbo power rather than a carb’d rotary....
HOLY HELL DO I WANT THIS CAR. (For like $2000)
I learned a lot from the 4ag and ae85 and ae86 chassis. I've had over thirteen of them. So yeah it's my fav.
What is wrong with you people???
Didn’t you read? He said crapcan. This is a beautiful car. :)
I bought a pair of AE86s for $300 once. A rotten GT-S Coupe and a solid SR-5 Hatch... was going to swap the guts over the hatch, but both were stolen in the same night and probably went to scrap.
“[O]ne of the worst cars of the 80s.”
Nothing wrong with the SS it sure looked good.
Sad thing is as that car sits, someone will pay over $5k for it. . .
Now that’s a shitbox. First rate.
I love my 82 Corolla and it has the 3TC.
I fell for this trap, ironically after working for several as a repo man. (I have literally repo’d the same car from 3 different owners.) Both times, I had catastrophic mechanical failures, and wound up pitching them the keys back and walking away. Hindsight is 20/20, Instead of paying the “down payment”, I should…
If I can poop in a toilet while making eye contact with the guy in the Nissan Cube following behind, nice price.
