i generally do, and i’ll slow down even more if i see any kids toys in the yard for fear of a rogue ball shooting out into the street, just as i slow down in wooded areas for deer crossing.

yeah, Obama opened Pandora’s Box, lol.

Tens of people who’d like to move huge extraction industries there.

What Obama’s New National Monuments Mean For the Militia Movement

Yea, I am sure there are tons of people who would just love to move to the barren, desolate wastelands that are the Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico deserts if only the government wasn’t hoarding all that valuable, arid, water-less land.

I’m fine with the feds owning a majority of my state. They do a better job managing it than my own idiot legislators ever have.

Ii’s like all the states are pregnant with little versions of themselves.

This seeming contradiction used to confuse me, until I realized that many of the people who call themselves patriots live in some bizarre mental fantasyland where they love some idea of the country they live in (which does not actually match what that country is or ever was), but hate everything about the reality -

Dems have been pursuing a top-down strategy for 20 years, on the assumption that demographics would favor them for the presidency. It doesn’t fucking work. If they would take on state races and redraw the maps in 2020, we might have a shot, but there’s no organized movement to fund a fight for statehouses, because

Maybe.....and I’m just spitballing here.....they should, I don’t know? Support policies that are good for their constituents/the country and say no to policies that they disagree with?

“No way Donald Trump wins a second term in 2020"

I would argue that it’s the job of both parties to cross lines as needed to achieve the compromise required to effectively pass laws that govern the nation.

“leftists” is a great sign that you are about to read something from an idiot.

When Obama took office, the country was shit, it isn’t shit anymore. Old farts with memory issues always seem to forget that.

So, here’s the thing: Random, anonymous posts on Jalopnik aren’t going to impact the historical assessment of Obama as a rather effective president. The people who inform long-term opinions seem to be mostly united in this fact.

Perhaps Obama should have taken fewer golfing trips and spent more time promoting his agenda. Then all this wouldn’t be “last minute”. Of course the administration was rock solid secure in their belief that the heir apparent would be crowned without a hitch.

None of these regulations are “last minute.” They have been working on them for years. It takes a really long time from the start of the process to the finalization. Between the public comment period, judicial reviews, cost analyses, interference from Congress, etc. There are OSHA regulations that were begun way back

Presidential Vacation Days:
President - Avg / Year
Obama - 27
Bush (W) - 128
Clinton - 22
Bush (H) - 55
Reagen - 44
Carter - 20
Johnson - 88
Eisenhower - 57

You’re seriously going to argue that the Republicans weren’t obstructionist dickwads under Obama?

What color are the clouds in your reality?

First of all, the golf meme is getting old. I’m sure it probably came from whatever right wing propaganda you get your “news” from, but let me nip that thing in the butt: Obama took far, FAR fewer trips than GWB, Clinton, GHB, or Reagan. Its not that its a problem for a President to take a vacation: its a fucking
