I’m waiting for a Chinese government response in which they accuse Apple of stealing intelligence for the US by selling a gazillion iPhones to the Chinese market.

Adam, I’m going to go with this being Plausible. Why? It sounds like something China would do. It sounds like something America would do / has done.

I am also a Canadian so not specific to “my laws”, however, your comment is 100% true and you make a great point.

As a Canadian, even your existing laws are a problem for us. I can’t take my work phone across the border or use a cloud service that has servers in the US because my employer (a government) doesn’t trust your government not to go poking around the confidential information I have access to.

This was my first desktop computer, the Heathkit EC-1 Analog Computer, first marketed in 1960. Numerical values were represented by DC voltages, which were applied to adders, dividers, inverters and accumulators. It was built around potentiometers, vacuum tube operational amplifiers, resistors, capacitors and relays.

Currency is money issued by a people or government. Epithetically referred to as “the taxing authority.” Money, OTOH, is anything that is a medium of exchange (do you accept sheep?), a store of value (You’ll still accept sheep tomorrow?), and a unit of account (a car is worth 87 sheep).

If you absolutely have to resort to handing over your phone/tablet/whatever device to your child with youtube open, for the love of god, know what you’re letting them watch first. Pre-screen everything. Have a playlist that you’ve hand selected of videos that are age appropriate. Use the tools at your disposal to lock

Totalitarianism thrives by making sure there are no good choices.

“...iceberg A-68, the gigantic slab of ice weighs about a trillion tons and features a surface area of 2,240 square miles (5,800 square kilometers).”

This. This.This.This.This.This.This.This.This.This.This.

“Posession”?

The rest of those apples are beginning to stink

The very act of putting the baggie into the wallet regardless of where it came from should disqualify it as evidence and the cops should be charged with evidence tampering.

If they bring the ads to prime video (non-free service) I’m out. Back to torrents I go. I despise TV ads and will never pay for them, hulu can suck a big fat dick.

I say we do two tickets per person, credit card and ID required at the venue entrance. No resales, refund offered and ticket will go back on market.

But everyone knows denim pants protect from instant nuclear vaporization better than bermuda shorts.

Not since Gawker died.

Well in many cases nuclear weapons are more or less inert until activated. I mean you still technically have the radioactive material, called the “pit”, but accidental detonation is not usually a big concern. The actual process of setting of a fission bomb (atomic bomb) is done one of 2 primary ways, the gun type

Was it necessary to bring POTUS into this? I thought Gizmodo would be a last stand of politically free science and tech focused entertainment.
