I think we should treat people fairly. I don’t think people should be bullied and harassed by thugs on social media and essentially have their lives ruined because they made a dumb joke on twitter.

Really? There’s a book about it called “So You’ve been Publicly shamed”. Examples include “donglegate” and Justine Sacco, although there are literally hundreds and probably thousands of examples.

Alternatively, one could say some people on the internet can’t take an opposing point of view (or maybe even a joke) and become hysterical bullies who won’t be satisfied until someone is fired. Each view is pretty warped. The culture wars are so toxic for everyone involved.

It would be one thing if people criticized him in a mature and respectful way. In a lot of cases its a bunch of bullies harassing someone.

When the people who were being PC were much more hateful and intolerant than the people they criticized.

There was little chance of a Nazi invasion of Britain. Churchill didn’t defeat the Nazis. We can largely thank the Soviets for that.

I think the Democrats have a lot to answer for as well. Both the R an Ds threw the average worker overboard decades ago. The Republicans don’t have a hope of winning. I’m more concerned about how much of a corporatist and neocon Clinton will be. Sanders really blew it when he said he would support whoever wins the nomination. The democrats need some real progressive ideas instead of basing their campaign on not being republicans.

Churchill was a total barbarian in his time in Africa and Asia. He did help defeat the Nazis and defend Britain but Russia and the fact that the United Kingdom is an island had much more to do with it.

I suppose I can’t get too excited about a clinton victory because I care more about economic matters than social issues. The Dems and Rs are too similar on economic matters for me to care too much who wins.

I think Hillary will be somewhat comparable to Reagan. She would be way to the right of Nixon or Eisenhower.
