I’m right there with you, as far as struggling with wrapping my mind around these fundamental aspects of space/time when blown up to this extent. For me, it’s just not having anything to really put it in any type of perspective that I can actually relate to. The speed of light is so seemingly fast on Earth scale that

Google photos already had some sort of visual indexing. It recognizes faces and common items rather well. Addition of AI will make this better, but I’m also now wondering if the permissions one already gave to use the app means Google’s meta collection is now in AI overdrive. They know who you are, they know who all

The Mirage should get a pass though, having motorcycle engine power in a sedan.

Edgar Wright is one of a few people who might be able to make something relevant of that IP. I’m picturing a mash between grindhouse throwback and dry British wit in a very self-aware movie.

Why? These “dipshits” are just regular people for the most part. The ones losing money during these meme stock rallies are billionaires who were shorting these stocks. I’d sooner have them lose a minor fraction of their net worth to the common folk than the opposite.

While, yes, it’s kind of crazy one nutbag can post nonsense on the internet and shift the path of multiple stocks, including GME with a new 1400 P/E ratio (lol...WTF?!?). But how is that any worse than clandestine billionaire hedge fund managers doing it on a level where you can’t even see it happening? At least here,

He’s already worth somewhere between $30M-45M from the first go-around, depending on who you ask. Not sure why anyone would want to risk scrutiny and accusation at this point by further manipulating markets. Not saying he isn’t doing this. Just that it would be weird now that he has accumulated that fortune already.

That’s all it took 10+ years ago, but more and more people are walking around with Flipper Zeros with wifi dev boards, able to crack password protected networks rather easily. If one is paranoid about this, they need to block all MAC addresses except the ones they whitelist, and even that isn’t really fully

This does nothing for me, as I’m not really much of an audiophile these days, but it’s really cool that they give an option to download a case design in STEP format for those who might want to 3D print their own.

Are you calling them “Watch-Brained”, or are you saying “Watch (these) brain geniuses get arrested...”? I don’t think I understand either way, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

I get the pressure, but c’mon. Swiss Army knives aren’t the ones used in crimes. Most of their blades are under 2.5” long, which usually passes local ordinance standards in many municipalities strict on knives. Their blades are clearly for utility and are actually useful as such.

Most tunnel highway exits have long “cooldown” ramps well before they turn off into surface street infrastructure. This is more like 100 yards and then a hard right straight into city traffic.

I find “tokamak” to be an interesting word. Sounds like something out of Metal Gear. Was apparently a loose acronym for “to-ka-mag” coined by Igor Golovin for “toroidal chamber magnetic”, but later changed to “tokamak” just because they thought it sounded better.

Boeing had historically been more of a cost-plus vendor for NASA in the past, but the Starliner is strictly contract. That means there’s actually more incentive now to cut costs than before, which I assume isn’t great considering the back charge on delays already. But that said, Boeing is a collaborator and

Modern disc formats are suffering from their own success in data density. Means even a tiny physical failure to the reflective surface of a disc results in the potential loss of several hundred MB of data. They can be pretty fragile too. Beyond just scratching and heat, there are long term oxidation, UV light, and

If we’re talking about physical media, then what is the distinction between digital or analog? It’s all just information recorded on a medium. The fact that one might be digital, as in the case of Bluray, doesn’t really change that fact.

Ryan Reynolds kills it on the business end. Midas touch.

It’s implied, but not always true. Beats own Studio 3's required to be charged even with the wired cable, despite not actually needed the power when running over the cable. But it sounds like these new units finally fixed that dumb design flaw.

I’m not entirely sure I follow your analogy. Just suffice to say I don’t think this point about the 3.5mm cable was a filler comment. Cable backup may seem pointless to many, but has saved me in the past on longhaul flights from having to use the airline’s crappy option when my battery unexpectedly died.

Also, the 3.5mm audio jack as an excellent option to save battery life? Come on......
