$200 billion?!? Try $3 TRILLION market cap. In the running, if not currently the most valuable company on the planet.

I’m quite Jealous. Gets to direct 2 Dune movies, finds out his cherished childhood toy company is making sets for the movie, gets prototype set for Christmas, several months ahead of retail release.
This news is both great and terrible at the same time. On the plus side, it would be amazing to have a lightweight version I could play on a non-gaming laptop via DEX or Windows 11 side loading. But on the down side, Tencent being the porting company is arguably a non-starter for me given how they’ll end up breaking…
Funny how that mentality shifted in the last 10 years since Google Glass originally dropped. I think people just assume that they’re being recorded 24/7 now and have made peace with it. Or have become desensitized with people recording anything of note on their phones, getting right up into other people’s business.
You’d be surprised how terrible security is in a lot of Fortune 500. Starbucks, for one prime example, has been caught multiple times over several years (meaning then never seem to learn their lesson) storing sensitive data, including user data, in plain text. Like actual username/password combos unsecured and in…
Spoofing email or messing with a company’s weak SMTP server security is probably far easier than pulling off the rest of this in a convincing manner, so I’m sure the sophistication level was higher than mismatched display and header email senders.
Seems like an extremely niche product. How often does one need something larger than a laptop, but also portable with a battery? I mean, I’m sure there are use cases, but enough of them to justify the design of this product category?
The track being such an integral part of each race and to F1 as a whole, they are rightfully personified and praised (or sometimes vilified) nearly as much as the teams and riders. The track is basically another opponent for every driver. So its an insult to the fanbase’s intelligence that A&F think they could pass…
While I’ll agree this is very stupid and needlessly reckless, I also wonder if he could make the road look like Mario Cart.
What’s the trade off though? I refuse to believe this company was established with completely altruistic motives, so where are they making their money? Point being, it’s all parallel. If it’s not one company making money from web browsing and search, it’s going to be another. Companies have to make money somehow.…
Something’s not right that this guy was the target. He seems very low level, almost to the point that one could imagine that the letter agencies involved make him into the sacrificial lamb because of some underlying reason they couldn’t go after his bosses. Maybe his bosses were mafia of some type where the letter…
Seems like a very important piece of context that shouldn’t have been missing in the article.
What am I missing?!? I’m imagining any bored guy with a Home Depot could have pieced together a sprinkler head, hose, and shop vac together to create said “reverse sprinkler” experiment in their bath tub and come to similar, albeit unscientific conclusions. I’m picturing a Hank Hill type watching it spin and saying, “Y…
You didn’t include filter and CO2 cost. Their filters are $75 for 350 gallons. That’s good for about 6 months for a single person who drinks/uses a lot of water. So for a couple that could be up to $300/year in just filters. Add to that CO2 at $30 a two pack. 500 8oz glasses for the two pack. Say that lasts a full…
They were both well into the breakdown lane though. This really shouldn’t have happened given the exit split hadn’t really even started until after where the white SUV was parked. 100% the black SUV operator’s fault.
Similar to Xbox 1/PS4 power levels is actually a far greater jump in performance than I was expecting, if true. The Switch has a Nvidia Tegra X1 chip in it. It is often referred to as a 1 teraflop chip, but that’s 16bit calculations. At 32bit, where Xbox/PS are routinely tested, the Switch would only be somewhere in…
I don’t know if it was the specific era of my life or if GoW3 multiplayer was indeed just that good, but I’ve failed to find anything that has given me the same sense of satisfaction as winning with a rando team battle in this game.
They are certainly overpriced, but they are also 40 oz+ thermoses that just so happen to have straws. If you shop for 40 ounce thermos, they are typically around $40. So pricing seems high if you call it a cup, but seems normal if you call it a thermos.
I could be mistaken, but I believe Windows 11 battery saver does not turn off dGPU. You really want to turn that off if you’re planning any long sessions that don’t require it where you can get by with integrated graphics. You might be able to squeeze out an hour or more with the dGPU turned off.
I never fully disagreed. I already conceded that most titanium alloys will be superior to aluminum and aluminum alloys in hardness and strength to weight ratio. My point is that an 80 on a Rockwell B, while not a Rockwell C score, is still respectable. That’s 100 kilos of force on a 1/16 ball bearing to make an…
