platypuses on a boat. Obvs.

That was me! I post my build logs over on TAY for all my costumes and they sometimes get shared on Kotaku proper. I do comissions as well. I should post those too. I’m super happy about the Alvin (tales of) jacket I made on order.

All of my own work from this year, chronologically, not including Comissions made for others.

Shifty eyed shameless self promotion acceptable, Luke, Y/N?

I’m at Cipher Prime’s Christmas party right now and they were laughing about the Kotaku article you did on “failed” kickstarters. They're still working on it and have demo booths of various projects set up in the studio. Disclaimer- I do not work for them but did kickstart Duet and have my backer rewards.

I’m not ‘burned out by negativity’, but thanks for your concern! I love talking about the creative process, my limitations (most people on TAY know but you probably don’t- I’m nearly blind!) and the author actually emailed me first asking if I could hop in to answer questions which is EXACTLY what I’m doing right now.

Hey, it’s your opinion and I totally understand people finding suits creepy. (Sorry I didnt see this sooner; you’re still stuck in grey limbo). I actually didn’t try to make it more “realistic”- the super cartoony eyes of the real one are made from materials I don’t have access to so I did the best I could with what I

That’s the official suit. Sly’s on my radar to build for myself though.

I’m 5’2” on a good day.

I’m not sure if you can see it, but just like a real furred animal I start outwards from the nose. (I used my cat as reference for the fur grain). People just kept hugging me and mussing up the fur/ petting me (dear god why does everyone want to pet Ratchet?!) and the fur poofed out more than normal.

HOLY SHIT THATS HILAROUS.

Good lord I keep forgetting how short I am until I see these.

The official one is made from stretched felt, which is seamless. I made mine from fur because Ratchet is furred- but I picked a slightly longer fur because fur needs to be sewn so I need a long enough pile (fiber length) to hide any seams. If the pile is long enough, the stitching is hidden under the fur fiber. I used

Left is official. Right is me. I have Clank in my costume and the official one is only Ratchet.

I do, because i do a lot of charity events in costume. Rocket Raccoon makes a ton of appearances at superhero charity events and R&C were made in the movie style for the same reason- they will be cycled in next year into my roster. I actually display Clank in my house, along with my Portal Gun, Toothless, and other

I’m a data analyst for a city planning firm, so no. But if someone wants to hire me, sure!

Also: here’s both the whole costumes from the front:

Yo. I’m th “fake” Ratchet on the right. I made both Ratchet and Clank (strapped on my back) for about $300 on my kitchen table. The official one probably cost a few grand from a factory with access to tools. I’m glad I got to see it up close to improve my own, but there’s just some things I simply can’t do from a home

Name is right under the P!

HYYYYPE. Loved it as a kid SO MUCH. Discovered Freezepop and Garbage because of that game.
