Several states, like VA and IN, have what’s known as an open primary, where you can pick which party’s ballot you want when you show up to vote. Other states, like WA, have what’s know as a “jungle primary,” where all candidates are listed on a single ballot and you just vote for whichever damn person you please.

Why? Parties are made of volunteers, donors and local leaders working together to get their favorite candidates elected. Why should you, as an independent, have a say in who my party puts forward as our candidate?

I’ve been around him for work events and he’s sort of an over the top goofball in a way that I could see being annoying if you weren’t really in the mood. Ultimately harmless, though! All of his former Firefly cast members love him, too, and I can’t see them faking it this long if there was any bad blood.

So we’re going to hate because she’s an attractive 46 year old? She’s never been anything but open about how hard she works to stay fit as she gets older, so I can’t drag her for looking good.
