I worked on Capitol Hill for a few years. My only Darrell Issa memory that doesn’t consist of his shitty partisan stonewalling is of him late in the evening (maybe 7:30/8:00pm) kicking the door to his Congressional office and cursing because, apparently, all of his staff had gone home and locked him out.

no one is “missing your point”. your point sucks and you’re being told that repeatedly.

Being anti-woman isn’t a single issue. Pence is anti-woman, which makes him also: anti-choice; anti-equal pay; anti-paid family leave; anti-early childhood education; anti-women’s healthcare; and anti-insert-other-issues-that-directly-relate-to-women’s-health-economic-interests-and-lives.

This isn’t so much a weird story as a totally expected with high mortification level story.

This is called compromise. When the action being discussed is something like marriage, there are two options: get married or don’t get married. Someone will eventually have to be on the “losing” end of the discussion because the alternative is being stuck in limbo, making everyone uncomfortable.
