Hyundia owns 33.3% of Kia, they used to own 51%, that makes them by and far the majority shareholder which means they get a large control in the business direction and decisions in Kia. Each having their own stock ticker doesn’t mean anything when it comes to ownership.... that’s not how public companies work.
