The color we see is the reflection of the light off of the object. So in this case the animal looks bright ruby red when under normal sunlight or even fluorescent light because there are red wavelengths present to be reflected. Red is mostly filtered out by just 10 feet of water. At 165 feet a red animal would look completely black and would be very well camouflaged if it didn’t move much or just drifted with the current.

Gilbert apparently drew the line well past that. Food service and janitorial staff for the arena got rings, the hot dog vendors in the stadium for goodness sake. They gave out over 1000 rings.

They weren’t personalized like the players and coaches were but this year they seem pretty impressive, and Gilbert reportedly gave out over 1000 of them clear down to the level of the janitors and hot dog vendors.

The rings get given out at the beginning of the next season not after the game. What’s impressive is that the Cavs had rings made for pretty much every full time person associated with the organization, they even gave one to their radio announcer.

Some really great shots. I’m amazed you can get an image that sharp of a green sea squirt with a camera the age of a c5050z. My own shot of the same animal isn’t as good even when I had the same artistic idea, his is closer zoom and better lit than mine.
