I thought it was fairly clear that Gizmodo was trolling the Android folks, but I guess it was too subtle...or you're just being obtuse.
The point is that the product lines and divisions among Android make it hard to figure out what's good and what's bad. Here, since there is basically only 1 or 2 iPhones available at a time from Apple one can very easily figure out which is the best.
