Please please please retire the anti-choice phrasing “life of the mother.” It’s newspeak; we’re talking about the life of a (pregnant) person. A pregnant person isn’t mother to anything unless they choose to be. Let’s not spread their linguistic propaganda for them.

The Hyde Amendment is actually a budget rider that gets attached every year, not an independent piece of legislation (even though the EACH Woman act is an effort to permanently prohibit the rider).
