For anyone watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood for the first time, be aware that the fourth episode of the first season will seriously fuck you up. It is otherwise an excellent show though.
that was my first thought when I saw FLCL on this list. Great anime but a TERRIBLE choice for first-time anime watchers.
The game also centers on Vaan more than it needed to. IIRC you always control Vaan when you’re in towns and cities and the first several hours of the game focus on him (until Fran/Balthier/Penelo join your party). So it’s not just the marketing team’s fault, the developers intentionally made Vaan the main character.
I’m really glad FF12 is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Is it a perfect game? Definitely not. But it’s also not as awful as I’ve heard people make it out to be over the years.
Mine was Legend of Mana for the PS when I was probably 12 years old. I remember stumbling across an ad for it in a magazine and being fascinated by the artwork. I’d never played a JRPG and didn’t know anything about the game but I knew I had to have it. I also knew that I couldn’t ask my parents to buy it for me (my…
I suppose it depends on how “alternate” is defined. Of the above, I’ve only played Yellow, but there isn’t a story difference from Red/Blue other than that Pikachu is your starter and they modified Team Rocket to make them more like the anime.
I played Sun/Moon on a New 3DS and there was some lag at times (noticeably when in a battle with more than 2 Pokemon on the field at once) but overall it ran pretty smoothly.
It sounds like it will have a different story than the original as well as different Pokemon (though it’s unclear if they will be adding new Pokemon or just featuring Pokemon that couldn’t be obtained in the original Sun/Moon).
TBH, no. I would start with a recent entry like Sun/Moon or X/Y. I seem to recall that Gold/Silver is quite challenging, but it’s been a while since I’ve played them.
Given that no info about the rumored Pokemon Stars has come out since the initial rumors last year, I can’t understand why people were still clinging to the idea of a main title Pokemon game on the Switch.
they referred to it as having an “alternate storyline” so it sounds to me that it’s going to be more like BW2.
SL = social link. In P3 and P4, that’s what confidants were called.
welp, that explains why they were the easiest confidants for me to max out
lol, Yoshida and Mishima were the first two confidants I maxed out.
Cyber Sleuth was one of the most poorly translated games I’ve ever played. There were typos and grammatical errors all over the place
It’s funny because the main character was originally supposed to be Basch but SE felt that people didn’t want to play a game with an “old” main character so they created Vaan and Penelo. It shows, though, because they are the two least interesting characters in the game and have no impact on the plot.
It’s one of the more polarizing games in the series. I love it, but I know many people who hate it (most issues I see debated are the battle system, open world feel - at least for a JRPG - and weak characters)
This game is a bit TOO similar to the film Song of the Sea to be coincidental...
I can’t remember the name of it, but I read a book recently where the author talked about different countries that make chocolate. In his opinion. Belgian chocolate was actually really, really shitty, but Belgium has done such a good job of marketing their chocolate as Highest Quality Ever that most people buy Belgian…
