Well, of course they do. There was about maybe a minute of James in this entire episode. When Cat said "This is worse than Myriad. I never thought I'd say that." she was talking to James. He had no response. Mehcad Brooks, a series regular, had no lines. James might as well have been Agent Vasquez. He appeared a

More than one gay character isn't a crazy impossibility but it has to seem reasonable, especially if you're not talking about characters who are added (like Maggie) but existing ones who have been portrayed as heterosexual. I'm far more concerned by the absence of characters who aren't either Caucasian or black. Where

They didn't need to do it anyway. They didn't need to have the Supergirl V. Superman battle. They could have just had her say something like, "Those were people I loved who were kidnapped. This is my city. That makes it my fight. You know you'd do the same thing if this were Metropolis."

Bad writing is the hallmark of the show. For example, why is J'onn unable to read minds so often? The "Homecoming" episode with the return of Jeremiah Danvers was one of the worst.

In the comics Triplicate Girl had a crush on Superboy and IIRC she had a brief one on Mon-El too. For that matter, Shadow Lass had a brief crush on Brainiac 5 before she turned her attentions to Mon-El.

Kara mentioned couples at the end of the episode and James isn't in a relationship AFAIK unless the Guardian+Winn+Lyra thing counts and Kara doesn't know about that anyway.

Not an aneurysm necessarily but if Mon-El does come back I'll be disappointed. Also, interviews don't necessarily mean too much. Earlier this season Jeremy Jordan said in an interview that Winn still has feelings for Kara and they would be explored but that didn't happen. Instead, we got Lyra.

Given that Lois, both in the comics and in various on screen incarnations, has always had a knack for finding and getting into trouble, that line made no sense.

As I've mentioned, I'd like to see a Winn-Lena romance but I doubt that will happen either.

Given that only about 5% of the U.S. population identifies as gay, it would be a bit of a coincidence if both Danvers sisters were. Plus, Supergirl has consistently been written as heterosexual. Alex, OTOH, is a made up (and yes, I know all the characters are made up in the sense of not having real world counterparts)

Okay, I rewatched the episode and Mehcad Brooks (James) had no lines. When Cat said "This is worse than Myriad. I never thought I'd say that." she was talking to James. He appeared a couple more times with Cat over the next couple of minutes while Superman and some random Daxamite were crashing through the CatCo

I don't see a possibility of Winn ever becoming the next Toyman, although Lyra taking a fist to him is possible. Heck, look what Siobhan did to him when she became Silver Banshee. But I have no doubt he would have still been okay with her after she attacked him and his friends and coworkers. They managed to make Lucy

If they follow comic book history he won't return for another 1000 years, which is fine by me.

I've said from the beginning that Supergirl is both as good as I hoped and as bad as I feared. Another poster mentioned that Kara could have remembered her visit-my-super-friend gizmo and sent Mon-El to live in Barry's universe. In the end, though, they sorta stuck with the Mon-El story from the comics and had him

Judge much? I suggest you reread Matthew 7:1-5.

And how long would that be? Nobody knows at this point. Better to find some other world and settle (or conquer) there. Now that Rhea's influence is gone it's possible more moderate Daxamites like Lar Gand will assume leadership positions and they'll come to the next world in peace.

No harm in that.

True enough. I was just thinking of an adage from Sharon Lee and Steve Miller's Liaden Universe series about choosing an ally: Can he shoot and will he aim at your enemy?

The kryptonite that contained tar appeared in Superman III, one of the Christopher Reeve movies. AFAIK, it wasn't exactly canon.

I grew up in southern Illinois and I used to see their commercials on TV all the time, so yes they were known 'way outside Pittsburgh.
