Regardless, there's all this hype about how these people were on Glee and how well they can sing. Why sing poorly on purpose, especially if you're going to sell the result on iTunes? I mean, "Moon river, wiiiider than a mile," hunting for the note just set my teeth on edge. Do another take or get someone else to sing

I pointed that out at the time. The timeline is a mess. In the beginning, it was established that Kara had been on Earth for 12 years. Let's assume a year had gone by when Jeremiah returned. Let's also assume he worked for the DEO for a while before he went missing. That means less than 13 years. But they also said

It's okay. I got the impression there was a romance angle at one point that didn't get explored. Given what they've done with Mon-El, I doubt they'd hesitate to take liberties with J'onn/M'gann. I don't know why she was written out but maybe it's for the best.

We don't know it was entirely the "thank the gods" line. Rhea said that. Lena supposedly discovered that Rhea's design called for an element that's not found on Earth (which is all kinds of bogus). I think that's what drove the final nail.

Of course there isn't. She's not on the show any more. There might as well be a romance between Max Lord and Lucy Lane. Neither of them is on the show any more either. I haven't seen a reference to J'onn/M'gann in quite a while except recently when I said I'm glad she's gone because there were too many characters.

Yeah, I was disappointed that they made him a bad guy. He could have been a love interest next season, which would have been much more in keeping with the comics.

I know what boy shorts look like. Those looked too long for that, long enough to be Spanx. I agree that if they're Spanx they seemed out of character.

And yet we don't usually see him working, just hanging out at Kara's job, for no apparent reason. To be fair, we don't see any of these people doing much actual work—what does Lyra do for a living?—but Mon-El seems to be especially lame in that regard.

Thanks. I used the exact words "story bible" in an earlier post. Other shows, even sitcoms, have been doing it for decades. If these people were writing The Big Bang Theory, Raj would be from India one week and Pakistan the next.

In the comics originally Mon-El was affected by "lead radiation," which is silly since lead isn't radioactive. The idea of him being more-or-less invulnerable except to lead projectiles, a lead knife (which would be fairly soft), etc. actually makes a certain degree of sense.

Speaking of which, when (if ever) are we going to see his super suit? The actor said he'd tried it on and that it looks sorta like the one from the comics but frankly I doubt we'll ever see it at this point. Then again, if it's as bad as the Guardian suit maybe it's just as well.

He's there because the DEO more or less adopted him at the beginning of the season. Odd that other aliens seem to get along just fine—find lives, jobs, relationships—outside the DEO but he can't for some reason.

Personally, whenever Mon-El wasn't on screen I was thinking "Thank God, no Mon-El." Seriously, I didn't miss him when he wasn't on screen. Or much of anyone else. This was basically a four character episode: Kara, Alex, Maggie, Random Bad Guy. When the whole episode is based on fake conflict, that's pretty much all

Secret identities wouldn't remotely work in real life unless the person were Iron Man or a shape shifter or Thor with his magic hammer. Glasses? I wear them and people still recognize me when I'm not wearing them. Domino mask? Same. The original comics Supergirl wore a brunette wig. That wouldn't work either. It's

A cliched plot, a contrived conflict and a lame bad guy but somehow they more-or-less sold it.

I've been saying for a while that each episode needs to have a Supergirl story, a Kara story, and a secondary character story. This was a good one from that perspective even if the actual story had serious flaws.

The whole "we had it under control" thing reminded me of Alex in the Pilot. Kara has just saved her life and Alex rips her a new one for using her powers. Maybe just a little gratitude? Would she rather have died? If I were writing the show, someday National City's finest would be in very deep doo doo and then Maggie

But how "frequent" is it? DEO agents are probably either killed in action or they retire. I doubt it's a case where they change jobs very often. What do you suppose they did before J'onn revealed himself as an alien? Quite possibly they administered drugs. There are certain things that go along with "secret government

I don't watch Arrow so I had to Google ARGUS. I presume their security is pretty lax too. The DEO people could at least say something about granting someone "provisional security clearance" or maybe have them wearing prominent "Visitor" badges.

Yeah, that was just dumb. There's no consistency. Somebody needs to at least skim the scripts for basic plot holes.
