It shouldn't take much to run basic concepts past somebody. Like you said, real life relationships don't work that way. People should have consistent personalities. J'onn is either a telepath or he isn't. Why didn't anyone detect Jeremiah's bionic arm? Why is Mon-El still acting like he just got out of his pod? There

Max Lord was never a true villain. He didn't like aliens and he thought humans could get along just fine thank you without Supers but he didn't want to rule the world or kill or enslave people. He just wanted aliens and Supers to leave him alone. He finally realized with the red kryptonite fiasco that Kara wasn't

I'm not sure that means it was her primary motivation though. It could have been just a bonus. I mean, she blew off a date with James to go be Supergirl and it wasn't the first time something like that happened. I'm sure she understands the whole notion of priorities.

Yeah, I was hoping for Max Lord or maybe Gen. Lane but instead we get Rick Malvern?

Except that the whole "files off the handle" thing was totally contrived out-of-character complete bad writing BS. Other than that, you're spot on. As for the "manslaughter" sentence, federal law says the max. sentence is 10 years (http://criminal.findlaw.com… so Rick may have been abusing the truth at that point.

Yeah, I agree that the conflict seemed forced and I also missed the sisters hug but that part seemed to be missing for Alex. "Kara, you wait outside while Maggie checks to see how I'm doing. Maybe we'll catch up later, never mind that you're my sister and we grew up together and I keep saying I love you, I've got a

Not necessarily Joe Schmo but someone who's been paying attention for a while, since before Kara started hiding who she is, and can put two and two together. Years ago, there was a Superman story where the guy who was the eye doctor in Smallville had figured out Clark Kent was Superman because he'd never prescribed

No, instead she wears Spanx because she doesn't like her body.

He ran off with Lucy Lane.

They need a series "Bible" to keep stuff straight, some basic consultants like a middle school science teacher so we don't get crap like "elements that don't exist on Earth," and some kind of story arc.

I must have missed that. When did Kara say something about keeping Maggie from missing dinner?

It's harder to get into the break room at Walmart than it is to get into the DEO command center. This is a very poorly realized Top Secret Government Agency.

Or just a Swiss Army knife. My wife carries one in her purse. Without her credit card, Alex (meaning the writers) would have had to get a lot more creative to dig the locator chip out of her shoulder.

Except she did in fact do the right thing at the end. She listened to Maggie even when Maggie wasn't living up to her own words. I'll say this again: If I were Supergirl it would be a cold day in Hell before I helped the police again unless they begged. Fortunately, Supergirl is better than I am so it won't come to

Since they found out there was a Cadmus mole in the DEO back in episode 2 of this season it's not that far fetched that someone there could be compromised, especially since J'onn's telepathy apparently doesn't work half the time.

His first day as "Mike the intern" he had overstayed his welcome. He exists to make dumb fish-out-of-water lines like "Why do Earth people use elevators instead of flying?" and bring a bag of mattress stuffing to Thanksgiving dinner. He's just plain poorly written. Rhea is already a more convincing human than he is

Thank you, yes. Kara and Maggie working together Because We Both Love Alex would have been wonderful. We'll never get that from this bunch of writers though.

I don't think so either. It's bad writing, relying on artificial conflict. I mean, I'd understand if Maggie simply had a problem with vigilantes in general but Supergirl doing stuff we've never seen her do for reasons we've never seen is something else.

I'm likewise calling BS. Or more to the point BW (Bad Writing). Plus, it's not like Supergirl came charging in at the beginning. She waited 15 hours. She let the police do their thing until it became apparent it wasn't working.
