To be honest, I never wanted him in the first place, or M'gann for that matter. Too many characters dilute the show. I don't want Lyra around either, for the same reason. Maggie at least adds something. Second, Mon-El is a Superboy/man character, not a Supergirl one. That's lazy writing. Third, their relationship was

Personally, I don't get the "but Lena *should not* trust Kara" subtext. Kara is being as open as possible, which is probably difficult for someone who has spent half her life keeping who she really is a secret. The scene with the alien detector, which L-Corp makes "because people have a right to know," showed Kara

It would be a mistake to "replace" Cat but there was always more to CatCo than Cat. Similarly, there are other management styles. Some work better than others. They had a chance to show James being a real manager, a real leader, after his first run-in with Snapper but they flubbed it. Lena has taken on some of the

$43K is the median salary for an Admin. Asst. The range goes above $54K. Remember too that she doesn't need to drive or pay medical/dental expenses. $2500/mo. was a round figure. Utilities for a single person run around $200/mo., which brings the total down $300 or so. She could probably get by with $45-50K/yr. before

$43K is the median salary. The range is about $34-55K. If Kara's rent is lower than average, or if her salary is higher than average, she could get by. Again, if this is the least plausible thing about a show that features aliens who can fly, then we're doing fine.

Yeah, she does seem a bit morally ambiguous at times. I mean, maybe after the whistle blower was blown up she figured anyone looking into the story might be in danger but there are lines you don't cross. I'm reminded of the scene in Superman Returns when he uses his X-ray vision to stalk Lois.

At one point I figured Lena would hire her and we wouldn't see any more of CatCo. Her unemploy-cation (which apparently is a thing since I found a blog post about one) was a bit jarring to process.

First, I'm reminded of a news item from a couple of years ago, maybe? It was about how unrealistically Wonder Woman's body was drawn. Okay, a flying superstrong invincible amazon with a strapless top that says up while she's fighting crime and the part that's hard to believe is her thigh gap?!
Anyway, given that J'onn

Yeah, it was okay last season when they flat out said Reactron had a history with Superman because he was still a Superman villain but she needs her own bad guys/gals. And bad guys can cross over. She fought Brainiac at least once in the Silver Age comics.

He went wherever Lucy Lane went. They both just faded away.

I was moved too but probably in a different direction. I've been the guy on the other side of the desk and on the rare occasions when I fired someone they weren't welcome to come back. Snapper fired Kara because she didn't deserve her job. One moment of something resembling actual journalism shouldn't have overcome

I doubt we'll see Mon-El's suit unless it shows up in the season finale. He did mention it a couple of episodes ago when he told Kara it was back at the DEO. I honestly don't expect or want him to be on the show beyond this season. If they're even remotely following canon, even if he's Dev-Em with a different name

Very little from the CatCo side was useful, unfortunately. They need to focus as much on Kara as on Supergirl.

I agree that she's going to be tempted but I hope you're wrong. Lillian couldn't turn her evil so maybe there's hope. IMHO, she's much better as a morally ambiguous friend than a super villain.

I didn't but when I originally saw the promo I thought she might have survived the explosion and someone caught her on video and gave it to Snapper.

They did it last season with Max Lord, and I thought it worked well. And Lena's company makes alien detectors "because people deserve to know," even though it's a gross invasion of privacy. Essentially good people can still have agendas. Few of us are purely either good or evil.

It was brought up months ago. IIRC, the "Friends" apartment would have gone for $3000+/mo. back in the 90's. A 1 bedroom apartment in LA (which I assume is what National City is) would average a bit over $2000/mo. or about $2500/mo. with utilities: https://www.quora.com/How-m… An Administrative Assistant in that area

Since J'onn has been treating her like an employee since last season, I've assumed she gets a salary of some kind.

Yeah, last season, they spent multiple episodes on Bizarro and Silver Banshee, and those felt like better developed villains/characters.

Good question about the President. Presumably there are consequences coming for J'onn disobeying her. Plus, if she's not second generation she could be impeached because only natural born U.S. citizens can be President. If J'onn read her mind and discovered her secret, it could give him leverage.
