Am I the only one actually kind of unhappy with the Maxwell Lord reveal? I enjoyed the episode in general, the characters are all developing well and the lesson of the week was a fine one for young Kara, "pace yourself padawan". But the parallels with Superman are just starting to seem lazy. Works right alongside the

Oh yeah…excellent point. I'm guessing the writers are just hoping no-one notices. You've stumbled on the unknowable, you're in grave danger!

I totally agree, all the fight scenes were a major step up this episode. You never get to see the full fight normally, and the choppy editing tends to look like it's trying to cover up bad choreography or bad execution. But here all the characters got to demonstrate excellent skills, which we could see clearly, and

You know what I don't mind at all that we've had a couple of episodes of setting up for the spin off. Lots of times with adventure action shows you'll get a plot line which introduces some new villain, some new victim maybe, the team gets involved, sorts it out, victim says cheers and bye, and the show moves on.

You know I think maybe this show is just taking some time to find its feet. Some of the ideas and the writing works great, some of it is clunky as hell, but maybe that makes sense when the show is still trying to find its tone and pace? Flash took a little time to get it right, and I ditched Arrow for a while

There is waaaaay too much kryptonite, like way too much. It's frikking everywhere. They have kryptonite light bulbs now?! Doesn't that entirely destroy the dramatic impact of kryptonite if it's such a regular part of the show? The scarcity made it much more interesting and menacing. Here's hoping it drops out of such

Thank you! HOPE right?!

Ah man it totally would have been! Especially after I committed to that whole damned season of Constantine!
…Your username rocks btw

Yeah you know what that is fair enough. I feel bad now. I love to keep everything super fresh when I watch my fave shows so I avoid all ads, all publicity, everything, so I appreciate that what I'm personally constituting a "spoiler" for me, isn't really a spoiler. Then having done all that effort I can't resist

Man I'm a bit gutted. Avclub never dropped a spoiler on me before, but Constantine appearing next week would have been a glorious surprise had it not been put in this review. Maybe you don't consider that a spoiler? *sigh* Either I'm pushing my luck reading here, or my standard of what constitutes a spoiler is too
