I'm still kinda stunned by how great the last one (White Album) was. It's become one of my go-to nice weather albums.

No but the sides were clearly defined. The Republic/Resistance/First Order dynamics were so muddled and halfheartedly explained - we shouldn't have to read a wiki to understand the basic conflict at play.

It was okay. The new characters were great. Basically remaking A New Hope with terrible world building (why do we care about the destruction of the Republic when we have no idea who or why anyone is fighting each other?) and lazy-even-by-Abrams-standards plotting? Not great.
