Okay, I'm an idiot!
Okay, thanks!
Fair enough! To your knowledge, is soldier =/= marine a universal concept? I think that was one thing I was trying to understand with my garbled references to definitions.
That much I've gathered!
Thank you, Loki. I was struggling to put that thought into words!
I personally love when he says "Hoss"
How reasonable.
I guess the issue here is maybe you can't separate the term soldier from the army? To the general public, soldier is a generic term for a member of the military.
Nope, I'm from the US.
Not to mention, as near as I can tell, Marines are the only surface warfare branch in either the UN or Martian militaries. Which makes sense, because both require the navy to get anywhere. Why is it illogical for the terms to be synonymous several centuries in the future?
Dude, I'm asking so that I can understand. Service branch =/= national origin in any way shape or form.
I understand that in the sense of the American military, as I mentioned above.
…but what is the distinction?
This is a distinction that I've never really understood. I mean, I get it in the US military, soldier is for the Army and Marine is obviously for the Marines.
Thanks. It does seems odd that the discussion of gravity centered around him on the Martian side, as he would live primarily in a 1G environment during his tenure. Of course, I honestly don't know how long it's been since the prior Ambassador died.
Drummer for VP.
LOL, thanks for the clarification!
Are you talking about the scientist on the Arbogast? Is he named Arjun as well?
I missed the part with the Captain and Arjun!
