FLESH IS THE NEW FLESH

If you mean best as in easiest. Well there isn't really one. The games are hard, that's kinda the point.

Man there is some awesome shit in the later era NES games. Megaman 5 had Shadow Protomans castle where you have to keep shooting down pillars that collapse the entire stage around you to climb up, even going back and playing that to day it blows my fucking mind.

Pixel art doesn't mean retro art.
Infact I think games that do pixel art in an attempt to look like old games are kinda lame. (though funny you mention Shovel Knight cause they talk in specific detail about how that game is completly impossible on NES hardware) Any game you make should look as good as you can possibly

I was all kind grouping that together, though Megaman 4 introduced the charged shot, 3 introduced the slide/rush/protoman/the missdirect boss/ the shadow robot masters etc (Basically everything that makes Megaman good)

I can't beleive I was unaware of this, fucking rad.

Megaman 3 also had protomans theme wich is short, but iconic as fuck.

Wich have you played of the classics? Megaman 2 always gets more fondly remembered but I think 3 is better then it in pretty much every way.

That's why you get metal mans power.

Man I feel like a huge nerd but there were a lot of mistakes in that shit about Megaman X.

Yeah considering the franchise has a fucking soccer game, Megaman 7 as the weirdest seems like a weak pick.

Counter point:
Their are multiple ways to 'beat' a pokemon game, beating the elite 4, catching them all, or getting the legendaries. The Legendaries are gods. Weather you have Zapdos/Moltress/Articuno as elemental dieties, Lugia and Hoho gods of rebirth and peace, Mew likea fucking 2001 space baby precursor to all

I woulda said Dan Abnett.

No there are 3 pokemon movies and like 16 shitty fucking cheaply made cash grabs.

I went and saw the first pokemon movie in theatres in 1998. But no you're right I'm sure it's just a fad that will be over soon right?

It's a VERY loose adaptation.

I had to read that sentence like ten times cause I completely forgot not only that the dude from kick ass was in the movie, but that that charecter even existed in the film.

The problem isn't inherently that pixel based retro platformers are bad, it's that most are just shitty pixel art used as a crutch to hide bad art. Like occasionally there will be a game that just absolutely nails it's asthetic like Shovel Knight, or something that does shit with pixel art that could have never worked

Shovel knight is fucking amazing and really deserves your money. Seriously it's just an amazing game.

Damm in my mind Marge as a cop was from way later after the show got kinda dumb.

only one of those is drawn manga style?
