Its true although the editing on them is usually better. The lip syncing challenges usually end up looking good in the end if just for pure editing. The airline one comes to mind where the judges didn't react all that well but it looked great to me. This was just… I don't know, the dances/cheers didn't have

When the promos came out I thought Kimora was going to be a look queen that fell flat in performance—much like Gia originally was. But damn Kimora's looks are nowhere near as polished as Gia's were.

I was actually wondering if they were both going to be eliminated and thereby justify a 14th queen and no elimination in episode 1. Kimora gave some performance but they were both just awful. They barely moved, they barely danced, they didn't get the style of music and Jaymes didn't fully commit to his comedy.

Part of me thinks Jaymes was eliminated out of pity. She is not ready for prime time and its just going to get more and more obvious with time.

I do agree it was weird that they attacked Valentina about the candle. It was a pretty tame display of religiosity, we've seen more—including "jesus is a biscuit, let him sop you up" in season 4. What I think is ACTUALLY very savvy is that Valentina is a Mexican AMERICAN playing up her Mexican heritage for the sake
