I like some of their stuff, but for the most part I can't stand it. I'm just not into the the whole 'noise as music' aesthetic. I have, to a lesser degree, the same problem with Sebadoh. I like most of their music; but when they get 'experimental', it's garbage.

I think the main difference is that Miller was always trying to be Eisner. He got catapulted to the top and became an icon, which he relished. He's drunk on his own ego and feels bulletproof which has made him crazy as fuck.

I agree that replacing the 'alien' with Dr. Manhattan would a good idea and better than the book's ending. And I think anyone who was a fan of the book believed that an HBO series would have been a better choice than trying to cram it all into a 2 hour movie.
