Yeah, Daniels is making it real hard for me not to hate him or think he's as big a fuckwad as Penn and Howard.

One night in Madripoor and the world's your oyster!
Oooh Black Magick. I meant to look for the first trade today at the LCS. I'll check next time.
If you want a truly twisted experience, read the early '80s X-Men-Micronauts mini-series. Written by Claremont and Mantlo, art by Butch Guice. It's a mess, but well worth checking out for the "how the hell did this get published?" factor alone.
Okay that was what I thought, that it was unconnected to the original. Although I see that a few characters from the original series have carried over into this one (Acroyear, Baron Karza).
Hmm, I love Maron's WTF podcast so I might check this out.
Where he religiously endorses friends' skills on a regular basis.
Definitely want to see more of these articles. They're fantastic!
I love the first Cap film. It's such a wonderful distillation of who the character is and what he's about.
Or as like to call it, Batman v. Superman: Yawn of Justice.
Ugh, spent the morning at the dentist and there are already 300 comments! I feel so out of the loop. I'll have to peruse this article over lunch soon.
Agreed on the Cassidy backstory. I think I simply felt it dragged a bit and it's possible that it's partly because I was starting to dislike Cassidy even then so spending so much time with him was irritating me. Ennis did a masterful job of slowly revealing Cassidy's dark side.
All true, which is why I love the character as well. I think people who dislike Cap are putting things on him that aren't there. Those people seem to paint him like he's Super Patriot or Nuke and are wayyyyy off the mark.
Do you mean you found the initial arcs, "Going to Texas" and "Until the End of the World" to be the lulls? I really enjoyed those, actually. I thought the part later where Cassidy tells Jesse his history (or what he wants to reveal of his history) to be a bit of a slog.
I'm gonna hold out for the inevitable repackaging/recollecting. I'm guessing that'll be announced later this year. I would even take two or three deluxe hardcovers containing just the material that's relevant to the run. If that means they leave out some of the fill-in issues I'm fine with that.
I read the first few issues of Axis (or, Sixis) and it was a hot mess so I dropped it fast. Not sure if it improved or not, though.
Hell yeah.
I'm assuming you've all read his Fearless Defenders then? Because that's one of those books I recommend to everyone. I loved it dearly.
I think you're right. All of his recent Secret Wars covers just blended into one muddy mess to me.
That Time Masters series is seriously underrated! I have my brother-in-law's back issues of that one, he let me borrow them a few years ago and told me to hang onto them until he gets a more permanent residence. I really hope he forgets so I can keep 'em!
